What Is Naomi’s Dwelling?

Naomi’s Dwelling is a residential shelter currently under construction on a beautiful piece of land in Vanleer, Tennessee. It will serve as a long-term refuge for some of our most vulnerable neighbors—elderly women, women with disabilities, and those recovering from medical hardship or displacement.

The house will provide semi-private bedrooms, shared living spaces, and a peaceful setting where residents can rest, recover, and move forward.

Why It Matters

Many of the women we serve are older, disabled, or recovering from trauma, loss, or serious illness—yet they’ve been living in cars, hotels, or unsafe environments with no place to rest or recover.

Naomi’s Dwelling will offer more than shelter. It will provide stability, dignity, and the spiritual care of a loving Christ-centered community.

Here, residents won’t just be housed—they’ll be invited to participate in rhythms of rest, growth, and healing. Women will have the opportunity to:

  • Care for chickens and other farm animals as a way to reconnect with life, nurture responsibility, and build confidence
  • Tend to plants in the greenhouse or garden, encouraging movement, routine, and time outdoors
  • Experience the emotional benefits of working with their hands, which is known to reduce anxiety, increase resilience, and support mental health
  • Take part in household rhythms that create structure, belonging, and peaceful purpose
  • Every part of this home is designed not just to provide safety—but to restore what’s been broken.
